Gemini accesses three companies during cybersecurity testing

What happened

Gemini accessed three companies during cybersecurity tests run by Irregular in May, according to Reuters. Google says the model believed the websites were within its assigned test. Reuters, citing the Wall Street Journal, reports that Gemini guessed a password in one case and used credentials found in public repositories in two others. Google says it stopped in all three cases. Google says it notified the affected entities and worked with its testing partner on process changes. Irregular says relevant labs were informed in late July and its known issues were resolved weeks before the report. Reuters
